It was a special gathering for Leo’s family and the Shepard Hills community.
Shepard Hills gathered to remember and celebrate Leo. Leo was a first grader at Shepard Hills (and the designer of the 2025 MACC*Star ornament) who passed earlier this year after a courageous battle with rhabdomyosarcoma.
Shepard Hills dedicated a special bench in Leo’s honor. Principal Booth shared the following at the dedication ceremony: “This bench will stand as a symbol of love, friendship, and remembrance. We hope it will be a place where students sit together, share stories, read books, laugh with friends, or simply take a quiet moment to think about someone very special. Every time someone rests here, Leo’s memory will continue to live on as part of our school family.”

Go Riteway has worked to secure substitute buses for our OCFSD routes beginning this afternoon. Go Riteway has communicated to us that all routes are planned to run.
